Wilson Co. around Cedars of Lebanon State Park/ Forest
Traveling
14 birders headed out this morning. 43 species were seen.
Nice bird outing this morning for the Lebanon bird club. We were glad
to have four visitors from Nashville TOS to join us. Two people picked
up 4 life birds and another 2 picked up another life bird. Prairie
Warblers were very abundant and everyone eventually got great looks
and pictures. N. Parula was also abundant but hiding. Everyone also
had great looks at Yellow-throated Vireo and White-eyed Vireo.
Red-eyed Vireo heard but not seen. THought I had a place staked out
for Black-and White Warbler, but it ended up being in a different
place. Some heard some, some didn't others found one after the trip
was over. I missed on the Orchard Oriole but others saw it. Thanks
to all who came out. Chris Agee and I had Worm-eating Warbler before
everyone else arrived. Chris got there real early and had 2 Screech
Owls and a Chuck-wills-widow. A Kentucky Warbler was singing behind
the Nature Center before we headed out.
