J. Percy Priest Lake
7 Points Rec. Area/Campground
Davidson Co., TN
2021 Mar 8
This Monday morning I again checked several spots around J. Percy
Priest Lake. At Seven Points Rec. Area/Campground looking from the
boat ramp there, I found 3 continuing RED-THROATED LOONs, 2 on
one side of the lake and one on the other. Near the lone loon
along with a modest raft of various ducks including REDHEADs and
a lone NORTHERN PINTAIL were 6 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERs. Several other
birders joined my wife and me, extending the outing as the day
warmed up. When we finally returned to my car, and I was about
to drive away I looked up, and there was a flock of at least 200
AMERICAN WHITE PELICANs circling above us. As we watched, they
slowly moved to the northwest.
