River Plantation, Bellevue
Davidson Co., TN
2020 March 4

Checked my feeder this morning and was pleasantly surprised to
see my first of the year INDIGO BUNTING. It was mostly dull
brown with a few blue patches here and there, so his plumage
has begun to change. It was chased away by a pair of RED-BELLIED
WOODPECKERs but came back to eat at the feeder again. As I grabbed
my camera this time, a RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD came in and the
INDIGO BUNTING fled again. A very nice harbinger of the birds
to come.
