I wrote a long report on Island 13 and the fall out of shorebirds at Ensley
on Sunday but evidently it was lost in the Internet hole. Anyway, 9
species of shorebirds were seen on Island 13 Saturday, where the Least Terns
were
doing battle and loosing big time to the 4 wheelers. Mom and 6
Black-bellied ducklings seem to have weather the storm and 13 Wind Bird
species were
seen after a weather fallout at Ensley Sunday, with one Upland. Nine
Forster's, one Common and 2 Black Terns were seen on Dacus Bar Sunday
afternoon.
Now for the real news.............

Clayton Ferrell with the Duck River NWR Unit near New Johnsonville, TN
reports an immature Brown Pelican at the following pools or out over the TN
River where photos were taken..

"It was originally observed at the lower (western) end of Pool 10 aka
Grassy Lake. It was last seen sitting out on Kentucky Lake about a quarter
mile out from the outer levee out from Pool 10. One would either have to
take a boat or walk a mile down the levee to get to near where it was
observed."
Good Birding !!!
