This is an invitation to all area birders to participate in the Stones
River National Battlefield's 3rd annual International Migratory Bird
Day (IMBD) bird count on Saturday May 12. The bird walk officially
starts at 9 AM, but "early birders" are welcome to join me around 7 to
catch some of the birds who are less inclined to call later in the
morning. Fortress Rosecrans is at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, just
off Highway 96 (Old Fort Parkway).

Below is the announcement from the Battlefield:

Please join Stones River National Battlefield and members of the
Highland Rim Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society in a
celebration of International Migratory Bird Day. We will do a survey of
bird species at Fortress Rosecrans on Saturday May 12.

Meet in the Fortress Rosecrans parking lot on Golf Lane in Murfreesboro
at 9AM. We will walk the trails and identify and list birds that we
find until about 11AM.

We look forward to seeing you there. The more the merrier!
