Interesting bird. If I saw just that first photo, I'd say Pec no doubt, that
3rd photo is at a funny angle but the colors of the breast and cap are more
suggestive of Sharp-tail in that photo. The middle photo is ambiguous, though
the resolution of the photo lack quite enough detail to see chest streaking.
Structurally I think its fine for a Pec, Sharp-tailed tend to be more petite
and smaller-billed but I will admit its been a while since I've spent much time
with them.
Overall my impression is of a lightly-marked juvenile Pectoral, I think we
would see more rufous in the cap and brightness overall in that 2nd good shot
in nice profile. The eyering is distinct but might not show up in these distant
shots. I would love to be proved wrong on this though :") I missed Jeff's bird
back in the 90's and this is probably my most wanted bird here in TN.
I'm sure you've looked at a lot of photos, here are a couple from St. Paul
several Septembers ago; great place to study these birds often directly with
Pectoral but Sharp-tail often being the more common. The chest pattern on your
bird is what I keep coming back too, its close but some Pec's can be very
lightly marked. It's worth looking at and I'd certainly welcome other opinions
as well, I know some here have seen these birds in Alaska since I have. My most
recent were in Australia, but in basic plumage so not pertinent plumage wise.

I called this a pectoral in the field, but after looking closer at these
distant photos, the cap and supercilium suggest potential Sharp-tail.
