Just a few notes on House Wren breeding from ACBOT (Annotated Checklist) ... First documented nesting in TN was in 1913 in Washington Co. First Knox Co nesting: 1950 First Davidson Co nesting: 1957 First attempts in "Chattanooga area": 1978 First Shelby Co nesting: 1979 I've had at least 4 singing males in Knox Co this year without trying: - 2 at Turkey Creek in late April filling nest boxes with sticks, - 1 in Farragut near Lovell Rd and Kingston Pike intersection (2-3 miles from Turkey Creek) singing all spring every time I go for my weekly allergy shot - 1 at home in the Cedar Bluff area today and I've probably forgotten a few. My wife's aunt and uncle have had them in their yard in Karns (NW Knox Co) in previous years but I haven't been by lately.
