A Great Horned Owl which had been cared for in captivity in recent months, was
released to the wild Saturday morning in Shady Valley, Johnson County, TN.
The adult female bird had been cared for by Wynn Wood Wildlife Rehabof
Elizabethton and conditioned for flight by the Clinch River Raptor Center at
Clinton, TN.

Rack Cross, Chris O'Bryan and Wallace Coffey joined Geri and Keith Wynn after
they asked if someone from the Bristol Bird Club would be willing to show them
a good release site and go with them.

Chris O'Bryan has been invited to join the center as a volunteer to be trained
in rehab methods and general medical and maintenance care for all types of
animals species. He has a wide variety of experiences with many species of
wildlife as well as field research methods and about 200 volunteer hours of
helping care for display animals at Steele Creek Park Nature Center in Bristol.
Chris will be 15 years old in May.

Let's go birding.....
