Agree, this is fine for an immature Red-shouldered, and looks could easily be
the same bird in both images. Both birds have a small dark mark in the
supercilium before the eye, and a small horizontal dark mark below the eye at
bottom of auriculars. I think the exposure is slightly different in the two
frames accounting for the difference in overall color.

sides of same one. The frontal view does not look like it goes with the hawk
seen from back plus it has a rounded end to tail feathers and head is lighter
color.. Any of you birders got any idea what I have here. Any and all
