At 5:45 PM today we just had a "Memorable" bird siting on this Blessed "Memorial Day". What a beautiful sight to behold!!! We were in the house trying to cool off when Stephen happened to look out and noticed a very unusual looking sparrow drinking and then start to bathe. He called my name telling me to hurry "come see". To our amazement and surprise we watched the most beautiful Adult Breeding Harris Sparrow drink, bathe and then fly up in our cedar tree. We were afraid to open the door so we set praying and patiently waiting hoping when he finished preening he would come down with the other birds to feed. Low and behold that is exactly what he did. We were almost breathless while he fed and gave us the opportunity to observe and watch him feed for about fifteen minutes before leaving us. What a pond, yard, County, and State bird to behold on Memorial Day!!!
