Sorry, mean to include just hit the "Previous" or "Next" to the right of the
photos to move between shots.

Subject: [TN-Bird] Harlequin Duck photos

I have some generally pretty bad images of the Harlequin to share. The bird
never cooperated very well during the morning while Mark and I were there,
though we as well as a number of others had some great scope looks. With the
chance of bad weather coming in, we left instead of hanging around hoping for
better shots (which we would have gotten....)

When the bird is on the island upriver of the Riverfront Seafood Restaurant, it
can be very hard to find. It blends in extremely well, and at times gets behind
tree stumps etc. I've uploaded a couple of distant shots of the bird in this
area, just to give an idea of what it looks like and how well it can blend in.
A
few other distant shots on the water and while doing its regular flight
upstream
so it can float down again.

I'm sure more good photos will be posted soon by others.

If anyone is interested in a few other recent photos (nothing rare), they
start:

Thanks again to all those keeping tabs on the Harlequin, and to sharing a great
morning with everyone else there!
