Tn. NWR Britton Ford Henry County I spent this balmy Nov. day at Britton Ford looking for the Red-necked Grebe. The bird eluded me, but it was fun sorting through the thousand plus birds, of at least twelve species, that are there now. I was stowing my scope away when a distant call got me back on the observation platform. I don't hear Greater White-frounted Geese very often, so it takes a few seconds for my brain to kick in. These birds were in a loose V coming right at me. They drifted to my right and nineteen of these big guys touched down on a mud bank about 150 yards away. I watched for ten minutes. Most of them were asleep when I left. Gary Casey Kingston Springs, Tn. Talk and walk softly, carry a big scope. =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
