Cove Lake State Park.- Campbell County, TN

Sunday evening at dusk, Nell and I were walking at Cove Lake and spotted
2 GREAT HORNED OWLS. They were flying back and forth across a small body
of water across the lake, and over to the walking trail around the lake,
apparently hunting.
Several times they perched on top of a Sycamore tree with a dead limb on
top, a neat silhouette in the half full moon.
We searched several times in Jan and Feb for a nest, but could not find
one. However, I am sure it must be nearby. These owls were hunting the
exact same areas they have been seen in later winter, early Spring for
the last 3 years. They frequently perched in a Pine Tree where they
nested 4 years ago.
