Yesterday, in Kingsport, I drove by the Great Blue Heron rookery near Ft. Patrick Henry Dam on the Holston River and saw no herons on the nests. Today in Chattanooga at the rookery at Chattanooga State on Amnicola, almost every one of the nests had a heron and some had two. Quite a difference. I didn't have time to check it closely or count, but last year as I recall there were more than 50 nests in that area.
