Perhaps 20 plus years ago, my dear friend Ruth McMillan & I were doing a Raptor
survey in Cannon Co TN and got a really definitive view of a different bird
...We reported it to Bob Hatcher first because at that time, perhaps
"bloodletting" had to prove such sightings. As Bob looked at my sketch we had
noted about the bird, he also said they were cyclic and made their way here
every 10 years or so...and indeed not only did our description in words and
sketches led him to tell us we had a definite Goshawk.
If all of this has previously been discussed, my apologies.
The spot I recall fondly this sighting is Shiloh Baptist Church off Hwy 145. If
one is to surface in this spot again, it may be worth checking out.
