I was out birding with my wife this afternoon near Woods Reservoir. We usually
find a lot of Warblers along Elk River Dam Rd. We had see lots of
Yellow-Rumped Warblers and one Prothonotary Warbler. I stopped at the
intersection of Elk River Dam Rd. and Reservoir Rd. On the lake side of the
road, feeding high in a Hickory Tree I saw a Golden-winged Warbler. I watched
him for several minutes before I remembered that my camera was in the Bach
seat. Just as I got the camera out, he flew out if sight. I waited till
sundown, but didn't see him again. That was a first for me in TennesseeMartin
