May 19, 2011 Booth Road, Gibson County I worked on Booth Road in Gibson County yesterday and had a few interesting birds in the scrubby habitat along this road: Eastern Kingbird - 2 Northern Parula - 1 Prairie Warbler - 1 Common Yellowthroat - 2 Yellow-breasted Chat - 10 Indigo Bunting - 8 Blue Grosbeak - 1 Dickcissel - 12 Field Sparrow - 2 In the yard at home I found a Chipping Sparrow nest with young and there is quite a bit of suspicious whitewash on the lower limbs of the Sugar Maple tree where the Green Heron nested last year. I did not see a nest but this tree is very dense and I will investigate closer. There are also up to 3 Chuck-will's-widows singing across the road at nightfall.
