Gibson Co.
Ed Davis Fish Farm (Gibson/Carroll Co. line) 5 miles east of Milan on Milan
Airport Rd.

On the way home from work this morning I made a quick detour by the Ed Davis
Fish Farm, just off of Hwy 79, east of Milan. This is my 4th trip by this
season, hoping to find some ponds drained down. This was the 1st time I
caught one down, with some nice habitat. I have had a few birds here a time
or two, but Mark Greene has caught this area right a few times over the
years, and had some nice birds. Decent numbers of birds were present in this
one pond, but as has been the theme of this season, not much diversity. A
Baird's Sandpiper was the highlight, my 1st since Jeff and I had a couple of
early birds back in July. Totals were as follows:

Killdeer 128
Semipalmated Plover 2 (juv.)
Lesser Yellowlegs 2 (juv.)
Pectoral Sandpiper 12 (a couple of crisp juv.)
Least Sandpiper 39 (nice mix of plumages)
Semipalmated Sandpiper 1 (juv.)
Baird's Sandpiper 1 (juv.)

Still haven't had a Wilson's Phalarope this season (this year for that
matter).

Good Birding!!
