I can attest from very HARD experience that such trades relating to bobwhites
are simply not possible. First of all, while the MS kite may have been a
success (not sure but assume it was) the chipmunk effort was a dismal failure
because there was no longer enough habitat left for them. I know of NO state
that now has reasonably viable populations of bobwhite that politically is
willing/able to trade/sell them to anyone else. Unfortunately.

However, I believe that we have places where we can recover bobwhite; it is
going to require serious effort using different approaches than in the past; eg
not wasting time on food plots and similar programs and focusing on the maximum
quality habitat which is old field. It is also not going to be possible to have
bobwhite in every corner of TN as the habitat is too far gone in many areas to
support them. You only have to look at Davidson, Knox, or Shelby Cos. to see
where they are likely not going to recover unless there are some significant
parcels of land that can be managed on the fringe.
