MISSBIRDERS,

Shortly after 7:30 this morning a female MAGNIFICENT FRIGATEBIRD flew over our house here south of Oxford. It was close enough (maybe 200 feet above the trees) to discern the sex as it lazily flapped her gigantic wings and headed off to the south. This represents the 1st Lafayette Co. record to my knowledge. This comes after the 1st Yalobusha Co.(Enid Lake) record by Jason Hoeksema on Saturday and seen again yesterday. His bird was an immature. This makes 2 of these magnificent storm birds seen in N MS in the last 3 days!!! There is no telling how many storm waifs are scattered around the state (and surronding states) so keep your eyes peeled and ready for anything. These birds will be finding their way back to the coast for weeks to come.

Also 65+ Blue-gray Gnatcatchers were seen in the last 2 hours of watching from our yard.
