-------- Original Message -------- Subject: Yellow-crowned night heron II Date: Thu, 04 Jul 2002 09:37:35 -0500 From: Jim and Sharon <go.bird@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxx As of July 3 there are now (at least) two YCNH working the creek in front of the Home Depot/Carmax/Expo at 100 Oaks in Nashville. Both appear to be adult. No obvious young have been seen. Also, although they are regular here daily, they may be roosting somewhere else. At dusk, two weeks ago, one YCNH flew over my car going n.n.w.while I was traveling s. on 8th Ave. Interestingly, when I plotted the bird's apparent track, assuming it had come from the Home Depot site, at 4 miles the line went directly through the old City Reservoir perched atop one of the highest hills in Nashville. Hmmm! I wonder what's up there? Anyone familiar with the site?
