Subject: No Cassin’s Kingbird this morning Dec 14
I did not find the Cassin’s Kingbird at Bell’s Bend Park, Davidson Co.,
while I was there from 7:45-11:50 this morning, Dec. 14. It stayed the same
38 degrees and very overcast, blustery at times, and only robins and
goldfinches were out in numbers. I walked the whole loop, twice: a puddle too
deep to wade, very close to the river nearly under the power lines coming
down the right-hand side, forced me to turn around and go back to the
junction and left from the beginning of the loop! A shame my first day to try
for this bird turned out to be a thoroughly crummy one.
A couple of gals from Knoxville arrived as I was leaving, maybe they’ll have
better luck.
I’ll submit an eBird checklist when I get over my disappointment. 😩😢
