All,
Several Chattanooga area birders relocated the first winter male Surf Scoter 
found yesterday by John Henderson at Booker T. Washington State Park and seen 
later in the day from Winward Pointe on Webb Road.
The bird was observed this afternoon for over an hour from the Powerhouse 
Overlook at Chickamauga Dam (Hamilton County). It was with Ring-billed Gulls 
observed upriver to the east toward Chickamauga Marina. The bird was probably 
400 - 500 yards above the dam. The Overlook can be accessed from Amnicola 
Highway just south of Hwy 153; follow the signs west to Chickamauga Dam.
