TN-birders,

I just got this email a few minutes ago. Looks like it might be of use to anyone researching anything ornithological. Thought some of our TN-birders might be interested.

Great birding,

Subject: New research tool for ornithologists

Dear Mr. Hoff:

We think that members of The Tennessee Ornithological Society will be interested in the news that we have launched JPASS, a personal access plan that unlocks a select archive of journals available on JSTOR, including many in ornithology, to individuals.

You may have heard of JSTOR or perhaps even used it in college. It's one of the world’s most heavily used online research databases with a digital archive of more than 1,800 academic journals, including The Auk, The Condor, Avian Diseases, the Journal of Avian Biology, and more. This new individual access plan, available in either one-month or one-year plans, enables individuals to quickly and easily access more than 7 million academic articles, reviews, and commentaries.

JPASS is an excellent research and fact-checking tool for birders, scientists, writers, and editors. We'd like you to consider letting the Society's members know about it. You might also want to consider adding it to any resource lists that you make available.

If you or any other Society officers are interested in trying JPASS, let me know and I can set you up with a complimentary 30-day trial.

You can also learn more about JPASS by visiting our website: http://jpass.jstor.org.

Thank you for your time.
