Just to update anyone who might be thinking of still trying for this bird. Doesn't look good. Evidently the bird has been lethargic the last couple of days, and now has a badly broken wing possibly from an eagle attack. To clarify, neither one of us have any problem with a rehabber capturing the bird if the bird is indeed injured. The rehabber would already have any necessary permits. I'm not saying this is either of our official policies on what to do with this bird, but neither one of us is saying anything against capture and attempted rehabilitation. Hopefully, that clarifies the issue. I am not aware of any rehabber being called in at this point. -Steve Holzman North High Shoals, GA On Jan 29, 2010 2:43pm, Carol Lambert & Jeff Sewell <lambertsewell@xxxxxxx> wrote: > The bird is still being seen from the West Overlook Park west of the dam. > It has grown even weaker and is huddled next to a small tree on shore. > The US Fish & Wildlife Service has directed the Corps of Engineers not to > capture the bird and to let nature take its course.
