Stan Wallace and I hiked and birded at Frozen Head State Park in Morgan
County today from 9:30 - 4:00. We went up the South Old Mac trail and
down the North Old Mac for a total of around 6 miles. The wildflowers
were spectacular on the upper half of the mountain. We heard a lot more
than we saw as usual here but got some great looks at some very close
Black-thr Greens, Ovenbird, and a Blackburnian 20 ft over our heads.

Black-and-white warbler - 6
American redstart - 30
Worm-eating warbler - 3

Louisiana waterthrush - 2

Wood thrush - 3
Blue-gray gnatcatcher - 3
Ruby-crowned kinglet - 1
Chimney swift - 1+
Hairy woodpecker - 1-2
Pileated woodpecker - 4
Sharp-shinned hawk - 1
Red-tailed hawk - 1 (in flight holding a stick and getting pushed
backwards by the wind)
