Radnor Lake State Natural Area Davidson Co. Nashville, TN Friday 12 Dec. 2003 I bundled up this morning for a brisk walk at Radnor, primarily to check out the the increase in ducks. I found mostly the usual suspects although numbers are building. Best bird of the morning was a sleeping RED-BREASTED MERGANSER. Land birds seemed to be in relatively short supply except for chickadees and sparrows. Pied-billed Grebe 2 Am. Black Duck 14 Mallard 16 Gadwall 114 American Wigeon 9 Ring-necked Duck 89 Bufflehead 12 Red-breasted Merganser 1 Hopefully the cold weather will increase the diversity for next week's CBC.
