Having heard that John O¹Barr had seen a Snow Goose at Cherokee Farm today (Mar 1st), I stopped by there on my way home from Blount County birding. Found about 170 Canada Geese, and two white geese were easy to pick out. One looked different, and looking closer I could see one was bigger with obvious grin patch and one was smaller, no grin patch, and stubby bill. A Snow and a Ross¹ together! I was pretty pleased, but then as I tried to get a few pictures of them, I discovered there was also a Cackling Goose there. Smaller than the Canadas, about same size as Snow Goose, with stubby bill. Having trouble downloading photos, but pretty sure I got a picture with all four species in one view.
