PUBLIX
Since people have been trying to see these birds and haven't been successful, I
drove by Publix on my way home after work to see if the birds are still here.
At approximately, 553p I seen what I thought was a flycatcher across from
Walgreens. Since I wasn't confident, I headed down the road and came back.
(Driving - no binos) As I was going back by Publix, 3 Scissor-tailed
Flycatchers were on the wire across from the Publix parking lot. Time was
558p. As I continued down the road, the bird I thought was a Scissor-tail was
indeed one. It was located on the wires across from Walgreens. There was
potentially a fifth perched on top of a pole, but from my angle, and without
binos, I could not be confident that it was not a mockingbird.
Below is a snapshot with the approximate area the birds were seen. Please note
I usually see these birds in the evening near dusk. Also note that the first
time I drove by, three of the birds were not there, but when I drove by 5
minutes later, they were.
