Stopped very briefly at Fort Loudon Dam in Lenoir City (Loudon Co.) around
noon today. There were two great egrets below the spillway. Also 4 dc
cormorants, a handful of great blue herons and a mourning dove. Not much
birdlife. It was cool and overcast. As I was leaving, 10 black vultures
appeared on the far bank, circling.
