Spent some time at Look Rock tower on the Foothills Parkway(Blount Co.) yesterday afternoon, 9/19/16, from 2:00 - 4:30pm. The skies were mostly cloudy and the wind seemed to be to the south or southwest so I figured it could be a good day for hawk watching. I ended up with 115+ Broad-winged Hawks. A few of the early ones were overhead but afterward they were very distant to the north or south of the tower. The last big group came through to the south around 3:30 I estimated at 60+ conservatively. They were a bit too far to see well when they peeled out of their kettle into a glide. There were a couple of distant singles which could have been something other than Broad-winged but just too far to tell. Also heard Common Raven, Pine Warbler, and Red-breasted Nuthatch and a few Chimney Swifts were flying around. A V-22 Osprey rotor aircraft flew over as well.

Also of note, Stan Wallace saw an Olive-sided Flycatcher on Sharp's Ridge (Knoxville) behind the gazebo around mid day.
