So sorry to hear about Marcia. She was a joy and a pleasure and a helpful
soul. She will be missed.
Yes, fish crows can be regularly found at Ish Creek Bay, especially around the
osprey nest near Marcia's place. They can also be regularly found at
Louisville Point Park and sporadically elsewhere in the county.

Subject: [TN-Bird] Fish crows in Maryville
Since moving from Oak Ridge to Maryville in late February I have been
occasionally hearing “different” crow calls in my new neighborhood off Sandy
Springs Rd in the south side of town. I thought I heard a Fish Crow about a
month ago but it was at a distance so I wasn’t positive it wasn’t just a call
from an immature American Crow. However, yesterday (June 8) while walking on
the southern end of the Maryville Greenway I had a flyover and heard the
distinct two note call of a Fish Crow. I’m also pretty sure I heard some Fish
Crows calling while fishing earlier this spring in the Ish Creek embayment of
Fort Loudoun Reservoir in Blount County.
While fishing in Ish Creek I observed an active osprey nest on the artificial
nesting structure I was involved in erecting when I worked for TVA. We
partnered with Marcia Davis to put up this structure as her family owned the
underlying property in the reservoir. I was very saddened to hear about
Marcia’s recent passing. She was always so pleasant and professional to talk to
about bird sightings in our local area. She will be greatly missed.
