Today while waiting on my wife at Walgreens at the corner of Lebanon Rd. and Tulip Grove Rd. in Hermitage, TN, I heard my first White-eyed Vireo of the season singing in a bunch of heavy undergrowth on Scott's Creek just Southeast of the intersection. This area has historically produced a lot of interesting birds for me, including Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Summer Tanager, Eastern Phoebe and in late summer large numbers of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds in the Jewelweed of the marshy area of Scott's Creek in years past. I also set up a large 150 pound cement bird bath on my deck today. I tried to find one with a pump but everyone was sold out of them. Good birding!
