Ruben Stoll called back with more detailed info, bird is actually 4.2 miles south of I-40 along Highway 13 (exit 143), not 2 miles as estimated earlier. This is a conspicuous area of large fields on a straight stretch of the highway (the best passing zone for miles in either direction). He reports that the bird was being very cooperative. I hope to head there first thing tomorrow morning.
