The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) has proposed a change to the
Migratory Bird Hunting and Conservation Stamp (Duck Stamp). To coincide with
the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Treaty, the Service is proposing
that the waterfowl on the Duck Stamp be enhanced by adding a second,
non-waterfowl bird species to the design of the Stamp. To be clear, this would
be in addition to the dominant waterfowl species appearing on the Stamp. The
change would be effective with the 2016 design contest, later this fall. This
change would help demonstrate that Duck Stamp dollars go to provide National
Wildlife Refuge habitat that benefits a host of birds species, not just
