I did some birding with my family after a conference at Fall Creek Fall SP in
Van Buren Co, TN. The highlights included: a Great Horned Owl that flew across
the lake at dusk last evening and landed above us in a tree; a Broad-winged
Hawk
soaring over the gulf (gorge); and watching a Black-throated Green Warbler
flying in the treetops with nesting material from above. I also ran into Joe
McGuiness, who was there doing a bat survey, which sounded pretty cool. Maybe
we can talk him into doing a presentation for one of our meetings.
