[TN-Bird] FYI--KY Legislators hold open comment period on sandhill crane hunt proposal

Many think the KY sandhill hunt proposal is a Kentucky battle and that
other state residents have no voice. Not so. The Kentucky legislators are
holding a public comment period before making their final decision which will
then pass the proposal forward to the Migratory Bird Division of USFWS for
final approval. There will also be a USFWS comment period. Letters and
comments are invited. This is an important opportunity to express opinion
on hunting the eastern population of sandhill cranes. See announcement
below on where to send comments:
PUBLIC COMMENT period is now open on KDFWR sandhill crane hunting season
regulation from 7/1 through 8/1/11 with a PUBLIC HEARING on the hunt in
Frankfort on 7/21/11. Written comments can be submitted via mail to: KDFWR,
Attn: Rose Mack, US 60, Frankfort KY 40601; and via email to:
