This morning I have my first of the season Purple Martins. I have both a male
and a female. Due to the sale of some property, I had to move some of my gourds
about 300 feet this winter. I was concerned they might not accept the move but
everything seems to be fine with them. The female has been checking out one of
the gourd thoroughly. March 1 ties my 4th earliest return date. The earliest
was Feb. 22 in 2005.
