Had my first FOS Dark Eyed Junco in the yard this past weekend (both days), west Knox County, Tennessee. Saturday a leucistic Carolina Chickadee was coming to the feeder. Its tail was white and it had a very light gray mantle. Tried to get a better look but it was feeding typical chickadee style... eat and run. It was with 3 others. This is the second leucistic chickadee I've had. The first was in November 2006 when "Whitey" visited my feeders for a couple of weeks. Whitey didn't have a white tail, however. He/she had extensive white feathering on its mantle and a splotchy looking cap. This second one is even more striking in appearance.
