Birders, Imagine my surprise just a few minutes ago when I was stopped at the corner of OHB and Hillsboro Pk. and because the windows were down, I heard a Grasshopper Sparrow singing loudly. Surprising to me, I saw him sitting on the rock wall of the new Forest Hills building just going up. Nobody was working today and guess he had the place to himself. It always amazes me where they may turn up. Also earlier in my backyard, I heard a comotion of Crows having fit and they were chasing two Black Vultures who were voicing arrk, arrk. I have never heard them say anything but huff. They landed on top of my next-door neighbor's house and sat for a while. The Mocking Birds, who have nests nearby, took over the fight and chased the Crows. They chase these 10-12 Crows all day long. Lots of bird entertainment today! Linda V.
