We had our first 2006 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher this morning at 9:15 a.m. We also have had two male Ruby-throated Hummingbirds since Sunday. The female that appeared on Saturday apparently left when the second male arrived; she may not have liked the fights between the two aggressive males. No warblers yet, though Virginia was sure she heard a Yellow-breasted Chat at noontime in the area south of our deck where we saw one consistently last year. But in spite of four eyes intently searching we could not locate it.
