TN-Birders,

There's an interesting article in today's Tennessean (9-10-2005). It's
written by AP's Libby Quaid and reports that the Wildlife Services arm of
the USDA last year killed about 2.7 million animals including 2.3 million
Starlings, 3,263 Double-Crested Cormorants, 10,735 Canada Geese, 143 feral
or free-ranging chickens and 73 Wild Turkeys for being "nuisances". Also
killed were 75,674 Coyotes, 31,286 Beavers, 3,907 Foxes, 397 Black Bears,
359 Cougars and 191 Wolves. I tried to find a link to give you the complete
article but couldn't.
