Walking along Bay Shore Drive at Turkey Trot Lane, I found my second Eastern
Screech-owl of the morning, thanks to an extremely agitated Tufted Titmouse.
The scolding brought out the “neighborhood watch” in force. Over the next 15
minutes I identified 12 species joining the mob: Great Crested Flycatcher,
Least Flycatcher, Tufted Titmouse (2), Downy Woodpecker, Northern Parula (2),
Worm-eating Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo (2), Yellow-throated Vireo, Carolina Wren
(2), Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (2), White-eyed Vireo (3) and a Ruby-throated
Hummingbird!. Great fun for me, not so much for the poor little owl.
