The two Short-Eared Owls were visible for about ten minutes hunting/flying over
the grassy field at the intersection of Swamp and Little Rock Road. After
that, it was too dark for us. The first owl was spotted flying onto one of the
white poles south of the intersection. Three of us enjoyed watching the birds.
The Merlin was seen on North road at the pond past the intersection of Swamp
Rd. It was in the tall tree next to the pond. We watched it for quite a while
before we decided to move on.
The Eastern Meadowlarks were singing. They make my heart so happy! We also
watched an American Kestrel fly off with a snake it just caught.
