A friend just called (5:00 p.m. Tuesday) from Knoxville Downtown island Airport
(Island Home) to say that he is watching three Bald Eagles flying around near
the east end of the airport island. They may be some of the same ones we saw
around there this time last year. He also said he was flying his motorglider
yesterday near House Mountain and thermaled with a Bald Eagle. That is near
the place on the Holston River (off Ruggles Ferry Pike) where we have seen
eagle activity and a possible nest site for the past couple of years.
