This morning was a little windy and cold for birding....but I found enough sheltered areas to make a few observations. I did not find my target birds: red-breasted nuthatches, winter wren, or hermit thrush, but did find a large flock of purple finches feeding in the picnic area with a mixed flock of bluebirds, juncos, and titmouse. I heard an eagle call right above me, and saw two immature's flying over me heading back to the lake. The large cowbird flock was just south-west of the park in a barn-lot, feeding with the pigeons. Keep on birding!
