TN-birders,
Dollyann and I went to the Eagle Bend fish hatchery in Anderson County this
morning. Most notable was a flock of 32 American Pipits that flew into the
second pond (dry) on the left after you go under the power lines. We saw them
fly into this dry pond but it took a while to actually see them, as they are
well camouflaged and not moving much.
Another nice find was a gorgeous Winter Wren in the far back left corner,
hanging around the brush pile there.
On the top pond in the back by the “corner” a jig in the fence line makes
there, we found 8 Palm Warblers.
4 Buffleheads were also nice, and first for the winter season for us here.
Great birding,
