TN-birders,

Dollyann & I checked out the Eagle Bend fish hatchery in Anderson County this
afternoon. As expected, the Laughing Gull was gone BUT the first winter
Bonaparte’s Gull was still there. They have now drained 2 more ponds, so more
shorebird habitat, but unfortunately most of the large number of birds that
were there Saturday have departed.

Still there are:

Blue-winged Teal – 2
Wood Duck – with 3 chicks in the far back left pond
Great Egret – 1 (couldn’t find the darn thing during the count Saturday –
figures!)
Semipalmated Plover - 2
Spotted Sandpiper – 2
Solitary Sandpiper – 2
Lesser Yellowlegs – 6
Semipalmated Sandpiper – 1
Least Sandpiper – 6
White-rumped Sandpiper – 1

Great birding,

Ron Hoff & Dollyann Myers
Clinton, TN
