TN-birders, Dollyann and I have been checking Eagle Bend fish hatchery, in Anderson County, pretty regularly lately. Today we found some nice birds from 3-3:45 pm: Snow Goose - 2; 1 blue adult and 1 white adult Canada Goose - 48 Gadwall - 7 American Black Duck - 1 Mallard - 75 Northern Shoveler - 1 female Bufflehead - 8 Great Blue Heron - 1 Northern Harrier - 1 Killdeer - 165 (our highest total ever here) American Pipit - 34 (our highest total ever again) Most of the Killdeer were in the upper pool (which is almost dry). The manager, Mike Smith, told us a few weeks ago that he intended to drain all of the pools for the winter, except the first pool on the right as you enter the property. He didn't say when they would start putting water back into them next year. Great birding, Ron Hoff and Dollyann Myers Clinton, TN =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
