[TN-Bird] Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery Shorebirds

I birded TWRA's Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery in Anderson County, Clinton, TN on
May 15, 2007 from 7:52 am to 8:46 am. Only one pond had any appreciable
mudflats. Despite workers from TWRA working on the pond, many shorebirds
were seen here. The following is a list of all shorebirds observed and a
select list of other birds:
1. Great Blue Heron- I had at least 17 with many young birds in nests
2. Canvasback- 1 (most likely the same bird that I have seen here since
March 22, 2007)
3. American Coot- 2
4. Semipalmated Plover- 3 (on Sunday the 13th 17 Semipalmated Plovers were
at Kingston Steam
Plant.
5. Killdeer- 5
6. Solitary Sandpiper- 2
7. Spotted Sandpiper- 4
8. Semipalmated Sandpiper- 14
9. Least Sandpiper- 7
10. Pectoral Sandpiper- 1
